AIFooST, new Leonardo da Vinci European project coordinated by Betelgeux

AIFooST project, “Analysis for improvement of the food safety training in the food and agricultural sector” is a Leonardo da Vinci Partnership project framed within the 2013 call of the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP). Programme funded by the European Commission in order enhance the cooperation between organisations working in the field of vocational education and training ("VET") on themes of mutual interest to the participating organisations.
This project has been evaluated and approved in four European countries. Its aim is to create a transnational association made up of companies and organizations related with the food and agriculture sector, food safety and vocational training, to exchange experiences and cooperation on an issue of common interest which is: “training of workers in the food and agricultural sector in order to improve food safety”.
In this way we intend to collaborate with the initiative “Better Training for Safer Food”. This is a Commission initiative aimed at organizing a Community (EU) training strategy in the areas of food law, feed law, animal health and animal welfare rules, as well as plant health rules.
Betelgeux acts as coordinator and the other partners involved are: Austrian Food Technology Platform (Austria), Potravinářská komora ČR (Czech Republic), University of Porto (Portugal).
Throughout two years the consortium will meet several times in different countries. The 17th and 18th of October will be held the first meeting in Valencia.
