Project Description

Safe-Rest acronym for "Food safety awareness for restaurants and school canteens" is a Leonardo da Vinci project, Transfer of Innovation framed within the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), call 2010.

It is aimed primarily at staff working in school canteens serving children during meals and restaurant workers serving a large segment of the population, to make them aware of the importance of food safety has on our society and informing them about the standards of hygiene and food safety required by national and European legislation.
 
Other objectives:
  • Provide food safety training workers from restaurants and school canteens.
  • Facilitate access to new information and communication technologies (ICTs)especially to those collectives presenting a lower level in the use of these technologies.
  • Use food safety training as a strategy to increase the adaptability of workers to emerging changes and developments in the sector, thereby improving their competitiveness and employability.
 
The created training materials are based on images, pictures, animations, etc., that can be used in different types of training (classroom, distance or blended), facilitating and ensuring in this way the access to continuous training programs of all workers.
